Comprises a certificate for the marriage of Thomas Thompson of Settle, Yorkshire, son of Silvanus Thompson of Settle (deceased) and Bridget his wife, and Fanny Barrett, daughter of William Barrett of Horton-in-Craven, and Jane his wife, at Skipton Meeting House of the Society of Friends on 12 September 1883, signed by the parties and 19 witnesses.

The Society of Friends (or 'Quakers') was formed by George Fox (1624-1691), a shoemaker from Nottingham.
